The Woodhouse Toad

I am a Woodhouse toad
The Junebugs I do eat
I stay off of the road
I don't jump across the street
Under a flat rock I do lay
And escape the heat of the day
The dogs just walk on by
While I gulp down a fly
One of them tried to lick me
But then behaved so sickly
At night the porch is lit
While on the steps do I sit
One bug, two bugs, three bugs, four
I ate a worm while sitting by the door
My skin Is like the bark of a tree
If I stay still you won't see me
On me is happiness and peace bestowed
I am a woodhouse toad
